In conjunction with Urgent Communications, Cassidian Communications recently sponsored the third webinar in a four-part series which explores the impact of next-generation communications across the public safety industry. Part three of the series, titled The 9-1-1 Call Center, focused on the PSAP and a number of factors that need to be considered as the public safety industry transitions from today’s enhanced 9-1-1 call processing to tomorrow’s NG9-1-1 services.
A panel of public safety experts that included representatives from the Tarrant County 9-1-1 call center, NENA, Texas A&M University, and Mission Critical Partners discussed both the benefits and challenges related to next generation applications and the PSAP – including interoperability, consolidation, the role of the call-taker, training, public education, legislation and funding.
