Downriver Selects Cassidian Communications as Its New P25 Radio Network Provider
By Admin on
The Downriver Mutual Aid (DMA) board from Downriver, Michigan has voted in favor of replacing its existing public safety communications system with a state-of-the-art, CORP25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) network from Cassidian Communications. With negotiations on the final aspects of the contract commencing immediately, the new digital, trunked, CORP25 network is expected to be fully deployed by the end of 2012 and will support fire and police first responders in 16 Downriver communities.
Cassidian Communications was selected by DMA because of both economic and system advantages. The industry’s only true non-proprietary P25 solution, the CORP25 radio network is fully interoperable and allows agencies to choose radios and other network components from a variety of different vendors. This true-choice approach enables competitive procurements and ultimately lowers the total cost of network ownership.
